"Going to a auto shop with a "broken" car is right up there with dentist and IRS in regards to the unknown. I was referred to Hertiage by a co-worker and I couldn't be happier. As a professional myself, the importance of customer service is paramount. "My old Porsche didn't pass the smog check... Even though I thought Frank's was a "Mercedes only" facility, after the failed test I drove over anyway to "interview" the folks to see if they understood my car's intake system. Adam, the manager, cheerfully greeted me and asked a few basic questions about the car. We then went out to survey the situation. He brought over a mechanic to assist. Immediately they recognized the Bosch mechanical system, exclaiming that "it's the same as the Mercedes _____." Adam then quoted a price for diagnostic service and stated it would be a starting point and the price could go up or down depending on the work required and parts needed. Fair enough... They had the car for a day, and the mechanic Scott methodically went through the system, ensured all the vacuum connections (of which there are many) were secure, along with the couple of electrical terminals, and then adjusted the mixture and idle while relying on an exhaust gas analyzer. WOW! The car passed the emissions test with flying colors -- meaning that the system was adjusted correctly -- and because no parts were required, the cost of the service, including the smog check, was less than half of the original estimate for a complete diagnostic check up. It also runs better than ever! Frank's could have easily charged what they had estimated, but didn't. This kind of honesty is seldom found in auto repair. But it IS at Frank's. Robert Northrup"
