"Customer service was fantastic. This is not my first visit as a customer but was my first visit with this vehicle. I received a quote that the timing in my engine was off and my crank shaft pulley would need to be replaced. I was told that it was not aligned since cylinder 1 was not at TDC. The problem was that my engine is timed off the 8 cylinder at 5 degrees left of center. After pointing out the technician's mistake, my vehicle was re-inspected and was completed immediately. I do not believe that this was purposeful just a lack of thoroughness on the hand of a staff member. My vehicle is not your normal, but the info on the timing on a 345 V8 IH motor is available with little effort in many public forums online. I was apologized to profusely and thanked for the information"

"Milstead is the one and ONLY shop I will ever use again! I have tried some of the other local shops- all horrendous experiences. So (having used the Milstead in Spring years ago but it was out of my way), I finally bit the bullet and contacted Thurman with my list of extensive problems- My rear end was loudly complaining and grinding, my rear brakes were shot just to name a few things. Part of my concern with not only the litany of issues/cost; I also had need of a loaner vehicle (last minute as the rental car company was a bust) in order to continue to go to work in Houston. Thurman not only gave me a loaner vehicle at the drop of a hat, he produced an extensive quote with explanations and cost within a day. Yes, the cost was up there (which I already had suspected given I knew what repairs needed to be made beforehand) however, not only did Milstead cut me a break on the repairs by reducing the cost of the loaner car, they also were kind enough to let me make payments on the remaining balance (with 1200 down which was a little less than half the bill). A little over a month later with an average daily 142 round trip commute, my Durango is still running like a champ as the day she left the shop. I cannot stress enough my appreciation for the outstanding work done but also for the kind and sympathetic manner I was treated. These folks 'GET' customer service!! Thank you so much and you can bet I'll be back because you know, my monster is going to need some other TLC from you *grin*"
